    Studio Shitty still shitty.
Organization Wages Campaign to Forestall Studio 60's Sunset Stripping
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/06/19/organization-wages-campai_n_52803.html

The HuffingtonPost Article above blows my mind.

Being one of the few people in the world to have seen every single episode of this show all I can say is: WTF? Why are they trying to save this show?
Studio 60 is a bloated righteous mess. If ever a show deserved the axe it is Studio 60. Don't get me wrong. I have watched every single episode. I love Matt Perry, Amanda Peete, DL Hugley, Bradley Whitford and new comers Nate Corddry and Sarah Paulson. I wanted this show to showcase their individual talents. It doesn't. It needs to go.
It is simply a platform from which a formerly relevant and talented writer can spew expository pseudo-liberal platitudes while also being a liberal apologist who suggest that maybe red states have it right and we blue state people are just too processy and self obsessed to know it. Watch the two parter featuring John Goodman as a small town judge holding court with some cast members and be prepared to be offended at the ignorance and arrogance with which Sorkin presents blue state liberals (I might be one of them, but these people are not me) and red state intellectuals (Boss Hogg with a brain). Sorkin’s most aggresses sin however is his Christian character, Harriet Hayes. Here he says “Look this is a what a real Christian should be…Look at her and learn.” Sorkin might have the best of intentions, but this show is a 4 million dollar an episode sink hole which long ago feel over the edge of self parody.
Why did I watch it then? It was like a cinematic car-wreak and I could not look away. In fact it made my heart leap into my mouth every time I saw it was on our DVR because I knew that what I was about to view would be craptastic in a way my brain was unable to fathom. It makes me happy in the masochistic heart of me to watch this show, to get angry with Sorkin and tear apart every godawful second of this show. Looking at this show based only on its merits as a television show, setting aside the politics, it’s a poorly written string of scenes using all the tricks Sorkin developed years ago: walking and talking, quipy seriousness, earnest characters who just want to do what is right. It is set on location behind the scenes of a comedy. Not just any comedy show, what is supposed to be the greatest comedy show of all time and yet no one ever laughs. Perhaps they are to tired from all the walking and talking they have to do. Kill it I say and let these very talented actors work on something worth watching.

Pack your bags...we're going to the Creation Museum
The museum wonk in me is creaming over what British News "Channel 4" describes as "...exhibits that show dinosaurs playing with children and Noah's Ark being built..." It can only be the handy work of anti-science christians in that most holy of places: Kentucky.

Apparently someone felt $27 million needed to be spent honoring the Lord's creation of the world. (You heathens weren't doing it. Why do you think the Lord burned The Cutty Sark 3 weeks ago? Punishment.)So last weekend saw the opening of "The Creation Museum". I personally can't wait!

This season of The Sopranos is so terrible that everyone involved should be ashamed. How the mighty have fallen.

It is actually making me physically anger and agitated to think about it.

Am I alone in thinking its disrespectful for Bush to not be going to Boris Yeltsin's funeral? If for no other reason than what the man represents: The victory of democracy over soviet communism?

MUSEUM WILL CLOSE TO TACKLE UNPLEASANT SMELL
Next Story | Previous Story | Back to list

    10:30 - 28 March 2007
A museum is closing for three days next month to tackle a nasty smell in the building.

New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, in Leicester, will close to visitors from Monday, April 16, until Wednesday, April 18.

Visitors and staff at the museum have noticed an unpleasant smell in some parts of the building over the past few months.

The smell has been particularly bad after heavy rain.

Leicester City Council bosses say the fumes are not dangerous, and are not a threat to people's health.

However, after an extensive investigation a drainage problem was found in an old well under the building.

A number of drains lead into the well and there is a problem with the waste water not draining away quickly enough, allowing water to build up.

Nick Gordon, managing curator at the museum, said: "We have arranged for the work to take place once the school holidays are over.

"We want to reassure all our visitors that while, very occasionally, there can be an unpleasant smell, it is not a health risk.

"We are able to stay open over Easter, which is one of our busiest times.

"We have a full programme of events over the school holidays including the Connections in Art talk, and the Ape an Ape mask-making workshop."

Full details of events at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery are available on-line at:

Dr. Sketchy's Barbary Coast - past and future
    April 1st

Yesterday's Dr. Sketchy's was awesome. We had a fabulous turn out for model Penny of www.curvypervy.com. She rocked her roller skates while being funny and sexy (grrrrowl!!!). DJ Mermaid played a variety of Roller Derby themed girl rock, the perfect soundtrack for our art monkeys.

If you didn't make it yesterday, please come next week when Molly Crabapple and the Hot Pink Feathers promise to crete another unforgettable night on the Barbary Coast!

Just so everyone knows I had a accident last weekend and lost my thumbnail and most of the flesh to my bone before my first knuckle. I'm fine and will recover, but the experience has brought to my attention the awful inefficiencies of Alameda County's Highland Hospital where I not only waited for 9 hours (longer I believe if I had not thrown a fit) and was treated rudely by every employee from the Receptionist to the Triage Nurse to the MDs. Only a RN by the name of Terri was kind. More later on this incident.

As a strict constitutionalist I am very happy to see that COPA has been struck down. Judge Reed makes a lovely statement. One that all Americans should bear in mind when tempted to mess with our constitution.

Excerpt from the New York Times:

“Despite my personal regret at having to set aside yet another attempt to protect our children from harmful material,” Judge Reed wrote, he said he was blocking the law out of concern that “perhaps we do the minors of this country harm if First Amendment protections, which they will with age inherit fully, are chipped away in the name of their protection.”

Grease: You're the one that I want!

Okay, Billy Bush makes Ryan Seacrest seem talanted. Beside the lack of talent or self-awareness he has that sharky little Bush grin that I hate so much on his cousin.

So building the Dinosuar Bank was tons of fun. Its a coin eating monster now!

    Day 1
Alright. So I rode my bike to work which was a nice exercise first thing in the morning. Its not a bad ride. About 2 miles and almost flat, with the exception of the one block hill on which my office is located. I rode halfway up and walked it the rest of the way. Riding up-hill can be a little difficult for me since I ride a one-speed coaster break bicycle.

Not only have a been exercising, but I have been sticking to my diet plan perfectly. I did just find a piece of ranch dressing coated lettuce piece stuck to my tit, but other than that I have been eating properly.

As for my creative act, I am not yet sure. I am putting together a dinosaur coin bank, but I am not sure if that counts as a creative act.

    Resolutions
Its a new year, y'all. Lets do this thing.

I have some resolutions for this new year. They are listed in no order particular.

    1. Blog regularly. I have not been good about doing this and I want to change that this year. My blog will contain updates on my following resolutions.
    2. Change my diet and add exercise. Thomas and I went and filled the tires on my bike today so I can start riding to and from work, and in 11 days I am starting swimming classes 4 days a week. I am feeling very hopeful and enthusiastic about these changes.
    3. Do one creative act a day. This can be a small project, an ongoing project but the goal is to increase my creative output.
    4. Watch one historically important film a week. I have never watched any of the French New Wave films. It's about time I did.
    5. Work on a system of organization so I can stay on top of my impulse to leave chaos and destruction behind. With school starting in 11 days I need to figure out a system which will allow me to maintain a clean house, proper diet, and balanced books.
    6. Keep my two plants alive for one more year.
    7. Take my supplements daily
    8. Earn enough units to transfer to San Francisco State University by December 2007.
    9. Work on building an inner calm and balancing my outrage at the injustices of the world with how my outrage reads to others and increases my personal stress levels. Anger leads to the darkside.
    10. Learn new skills which will help after the coming apocalypse. Either that, or new skills which will help to prevent the coming apocalypse. Reducing my carbon foot print would be a start.
    11. Read my RSS feeds daily.
    12. Cut back on the amount of compulsive and copious printing I do while at work. Its a waste of paper and I always throw out what I print after I find it weeks later in the car's backseat wheel-well.

Hungry in America? I don't think so!
Good news for Thanksgiving. The Federal goverment declares America's struggle with hunger over!

    From http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2006/11/21/us-govt-no-more-hungry-_n_34579.html

"...The federal government has decided to drop the word "hunger" from its vocabulary, according to a new report released by the USDA. The reason? USDA sociologist Mark Nord, the author of the report, claims that the term "hungry" is "not a scientifically accurate term for the specific phenomenon being measured in the food security survey. We don't have a measure of that condition."

The USDA will now use the term "very low food security" to describe people who used to be considered "food insecure with hunger." Statistically speaking, hunger will no longer exist in America..."

Boy are we lucky! Happy Thanksgiving, Ya'll!

The pope, the pope, the pope is on fire...
Lets see. The pope has just quoted historical treatise that claim Islam is spread by the sword. Hmm, what's the best response to this situation? I know! Lets go ape-shit and declare the pope and the west doomed (Per Iraqi Al-Qaida http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060918/ap_on_re_mi_ea/muslims_pope_5 )!
Nothing downplays claims of religious violence like a few threats of religious violence. Well, it certainly makes a lot of sense to me.
